THE STRUGGLE

Life before I changed the way I spoke to myself

For much of my career in financial services, life felt overwhelming, fast-paced, exhausting and out of control. I was constantly doubting myself, comparing myself to everyone around me and criticising myself for everything I did.

I failed my professional exams. I was terrified of public speaking. I stayed quiet at work, convinced nobody wanted to hear what I had to say. I talked myself out of the things I really wanted and kept putting the promotion off.

I kept trying to show up but I knew that something needed to change.

THE SHIFT.

When I noticed my inner critic

It was working with a coach that changed everything. For the first time I started to notice the way I was speaking to myself and how much that conversation was driving everything. Every exam I failed, every moment I stayed silent and every promotion I talked myself out of wasn’t because I was afraid of those things, I was afraid of me and what I was telling myself.

Each time I noticed my inner critic, I began working with it rather than against it and things started to change.

THE TRANFORMATION.

Everything changed

I passed my exams, got the promotion and went from being a terrified public speaker to a powerful communicator in front of my biggest audience and actually enjoyed it. I moved into designing and delivering training programmes, and eventually took the biggest leap of all; leaving financial services to build a career doing work I truly love.
“It wasn’t just a career change, it was becoming who I was always meant to be.”
I’ve seen the same happen for the women I work with. Women who felt stuck and unfulfilled, afraid to speak up, going round in circles. When they changed the way they spoke to themselves, everything changed.

BEYOND COACHING.

What I love to do

You’ll most likely find me outdoors; up a mountain, or out on a run. I love being outside and challenging myself mentally and physically. I believe the body achieves what the mind believes,
and I try to live that every single day.
You’ll also find me abroad in the sunshine, at a music festival or simply enjoying life. Being happy isn’t just something I help others work towards, it’s something I work on every day myself.
